The Ocean County College Foundation is thrilled to announce the return of this musical summer tradition! Bring your chairs or blankets and enjoy the sounds of your New Jersey Symphony on Tuesday, June 24 at 8 p.m. on the Gateway Building Lawn, located on OCC’s main campus in Toms River. This family-friendly program is open to the public, and admission and parking are free of charge.
Join your community for a magical evening of live music conducted by Gregory D. McDaniel and featuring timeless classics, Broadway themes, and patriotic favorites the whole family will love. Selections include Mozart’s Overture to “The Magic Flute,” “Silk Hat and Walking Cane” from Dances in the Canebrakes by Florence Price, Gioachino Rossini’s Overture to “William Tell,” and highlights from “Wicked” by Stephen Schwartz, along with many other treasures.
Gregory D. McDaniel is the 2024–25 Colton Conducting Fellow, made possible by the generous support of Judy and Stewart Colton.
“Our Foundation Board is delighted to have the opportunity to welcome back the New Jersey Symphony for the fifth time, for what promises to be another beautiful evening for our entire community to enjoy,” said Kenneth J. Malagiere, Foundation executive director. “We also extend our sincere thanks to the Ocean County Board of Commissioners, Ocean County Cultural and Heritage Commission, and Vision Financial Services for their generous support again this year.”
Pamela Monaco, president of Ocean County College, has enjoyed this summer tradition in the two years she has been at OCC. “What could make for a more delightful summer evening than spectacular music from different time periods and representing different styles, professionally performed and enjoyed while out-of-doors? The College is grateful for the ongoing support of the Ocean County Cultural and Heritage Commission and the Ocean County Board of Commissioners for the value they place on supporting the arts. Vision Financial Services and the OCC Foundation continue to allow the College to serve our community.”
Don’t miss this beautiful event beneath the summer sky! For more information, email foundation@ocean.edu or visit go.ocean.edu/NJSymphony.
In the event of inclement weather, the concert will be moved indoors to the OCC Gymnasium (Building #29).
