Academic ESL
(College Credit)

Best for: Students who want to earn a college degree or a professional certificate.

• Tuition-based, but scholarships and grants are available.
• Strengthening reading, writing, grammar, listening, and speaking from foundational to college-level.
• Four-credit courses taught by experienced OCC faculty
• Evening classes, held twice a week with in-person support
• Students at Level 4 can begin taking approved 100-level college courses while finishing their ESL studies.
• Students receive an OCC English Language Certificate after completing Level 4.

Community & Career ESL (Non-Credit)

Best for: Improving English for work, family support, and navigating daily tasks.

• Practical English for career advancement, helping children with school, and daily tasks such as banking or medical visits.
• Sessions last 10 weeks, meeting twice per week for 3 hours per class.
• Uses Burlington English for guided practice and online homework.
• Includes training in Financial, Digital, and Family Literacy.
• Integrated Education and Training (IET) courses are available in Administrative Office Support Specialist and Medical Management Specialist.
