OCC’s newly developed Media Production concentration allows students to actively engage with their passion for film, television, and multimedia, giving them the foundational skills to grow and the hands-on experience to thrive. Whether you have an interest in video, audio, new media, communication, production, or development, this program has a place for you to develop the skills to enter an exciting and ever-growth field.

What You Will Learn

Students will learn foundational skills in video and audio production, cinematography, lightening, directing, and storytelling. They will work with state-of-the-art facilities and equipment to develop their craft and build the skills and network to take the next step in the industry.

Core skills and competencies include:

  • Write professional scripts and copy that meet modern industry standards
  • Collaborate effectively as a key member of a production team in the studio and the field
  • Master the fundamentals of field video gathering and post-production editing techniques
  • Produce high-quality audio for both studio recordings and live event environments
  • Apply creative storytelling techniques to engage audiences across multiple platforms
  • Manage technical production equipment with confidence and precision

Media Production majors often pursue careers in film, television, digital media, and broadcasting, working as producers, directors, camera operators, editors, or multimedia specialists.
