This book club is exclusively for participants enrolled in the Displaced Homemakers Program.
Navigating life transitions where we will read empowering practical books. For more information about the program or to apply please click here go.ocean.edu/DisplacedHomemakers
For a long time, your energy went into caring for others. This space will be dedicated entirely to you, a supportive, low pressure environment to focus on self-esteem, rebuild confidence, and reclaim the path forward with the bonus of coming together and meeting other members.
This workshop series we will be reading a bold, fiercely blunt memoir about losing yourself in traditional roles and bravely finding your voice again. Untamed by Glennon Doyle details how the author broke free from societal expectations to reclaim her true identity after a major life upheaval. It is an unapologetic, eye-opening look at learning to trust your inner strength, speak your truth, and rewrite your own rules for the future.
HOW IT WORKS
- Program staff will provide the empowering practical book.
- There will be 2 meetings set a month apart.
- Meet your Peers: The first meeting will require no reading. We will simply meet to introduce ourselves, set a few comfort guidelines, and hand out the book.
- Participants will independently read the book over the next month.
- Book Discussion day: We will come together to discuss the book, share our take away and how the ideas and information resonate
Date: Tuesdays November 3, 2026 and December 1, 2026
Time: 12:00-1:00 p.m.
Location: Ocean County College Library (building #3) Room #110
**** This is a 2-part mini-series. When you register, you are registering for both meetings for this book. In order to maintain comfortability of all participants, attendance at November 3 “meet your peers” is required for “book discussion” December 1.
