StarMix – A live Astro-musical Event!

Explore the cosmos with a short tour of the night sky, followed by a DJ set of eclectic electronic music by Rob Hughes. Experience atmospheric soundscapes, dreamy downtempo beats, and shimmering waves of synthesized melodies merging with other worldly, full dome visuals from Grant Bouvier of Luminous Abstract. For fans of Carl Sagan’s Cosmos, multiverse theory, interstellar travel, the film scores of Tangerine Dream, celestial bodies, the Rainbow Road track from Mario Kart, or just pondering the heavens in general. This show is 1 1/2 hours in length, including a short intermission. Musical portion may contain flashes, or rapidly changing images and patterns, which may affect photosensitive viewers.

Artists:
Rob Hughes is a DJ from Philadelphia. At the intersection of ethereal electronica and spaced out disco, his sets radiate the warm and rapturous glow of the cosmic groove.

Grant Bouvier is an electronic audiovisual artist and composer from Philadelphia. His work focuses on the polymerization of the hyper-digital and the hyper-analog, glitches, weird circuits, dead media formats, and uncertainty. He seeks to subvert the computationality of our technoliminal world, investigate the possibilities of lost futures, and to reveal the bizarre and eerie alternative states of being that exist beyond, and beneath, the end of history.
