Veterinary Assistant Program
Veterinary Assistants are an integral part of the veterinary healthcare team working under the supervision of a veterinarian/credentialed veterinary technician.
Course/Program Details
100 hours of in-class instruction, 50 hours asynchronous, 100 Hours of Clinical Externship
Requirements:
- Participants must be 18 years of age or older to participate in this program.
- Email and Internet Access
- Clear Criminal Background Check
- Student Health & Insurance Waiver
- Tetanus Shot
Through this NAVTA-approved program, students are trained to aid in patient care, behavior, and restraint. This course also covers:
- Laboratory
- Radiology
- Pharmacy skills
- Preventative care
- Surgery and recovery
- Animal CPR certification

Credentials: Successful graduates will receive an OCC Certificate of Completion and those that completed their 100 clinical externship hours are eligible to sit for the NAVTA Veterinary Assistant exam
