Ocean County College received a four-year Strengthening Community Colleges Training Grant (SCC5), from the US Department of Labor (USDOL) to build capacity to meet the skill development needs of healthcare employers and support students in obtaining good jobs in the healthcare industry.
The purpose of the SCC5 Health First New Jersey grant is to increase the number of highly skilled healthcare workers in the four-county region (Ocean, Atlantic, Cape May and Middlesex) by providing guided career pathways aligned to labor market data and industry intelligence.
Grant funding will provide tuition assistance to eligible students and will enable Ocean County College to offer affordable, high-quality workforce training to meet employers’ and workers’ skill development needs in the Healthcare and Healthcare Information Technology Industry Sectors.
