ADVISING, TRANSFER AND CAREER SERVICES
In the Advising, Transfer and Career Services Office, we help students: understand placement test results; select a degree (Please note: it may be a Kean Ocean or Thomas Edison degree) program; understand College requirements and identify transfer or career goals. Stop by our office or schedule a virtual advising appointment.

OCC has four academic schools, including liberal arts and humanities, business management and social sciences, nursing and STEM. Each school offers a variety of degrees and certificates. Within each of the three degree types are several choices of programs (or majors). Students should choose a major that aligns with their transfer plans and career goals.
Successful transfer from OCC requires planning. The Academic Advising staff can help students access information on two- and four-year colleges/universities and plan courses to parallel the first two years at the four-year institution where they plan to transfer. Students interested in transferring should meet with an advisor early in their career with OCC. For more information, view a tutorial on how to use NJ Transfer.
At OCC, Career Services is part of the Advising, Transfer and Career Services Office. We can assist you with career exploration to help you identify a Career Path and the jobs and majors in that path. We can also assist you with preparation for employment through career advising upon graduation. To make an appointment for career advising, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
In Advising, Transfer and Career Services, we work to connect students with appropriate campus resources. There is a wealth of academic and campus resources available to students at OCC. However, students must know about and use these resources in order to get all the benefits that come with them.
