Now that you’ve registered, it’s time to take the final steps towards the first day of classes! Below you’ll find important information on paying for classes and the semester’s drop schedule, class materials, and accessing Canvas for your courses.

Self-Pay
To view your Account Summary or Pay Online follow these steps:
- Sign in to Ocean Connect
- Click on Student Finance and select Make a Payment
- Click Go here to Pay: Payments at the top left
- Click on Proceed to Payment
- Set up payment arrangements
Financial Aid
Visit Ocean Connect > Student Financial Aid to ensure you have submitted all necessary documents and review your financial aid award.

Kean students should go through the Kean Financial Aid department to ensure payment is made to Ocean for your registered classes with your Kean financial aid funds.

Books are included in most courses.

Books are available for purchase about 2-3 weeks before the start of the term.
Financial Aid students can use their funding until the end of the drop/add period.

Classes are available through Canvas on the first day of classes.

Standard Username: firstname_lastname
(Some students may have #s after their last name)
Password: Your initial password is your 7-digit student ID number found on WebAdvisor.
Active Participation Policy (Important for Online Students):
Make sure you actively participate in your course prior to the add/drop period.
To actively participate, take one of the following three actions within the first three days of class:
- Post to a discussion board (Introduction boards DO count)
- Take a quiz or a test (Readiness quizzes DO count)
- Submit an item to the Dropbox
*Logging in and/or emailing the instructor doesn’t count towards active participation.
Payment Deadlines
Payment arrangements for classes are due upon registration!
In order to secure your classes and avoid your courses being dropped please:
- Pay your balance OR
- Confirm the status of your financial aid OR
- Set up a payment plan by the appropriate deadline

Yes! You can make payments on a prior term by going to mycollegepaymentplan.com or through Student Finance in Ocean Connect.
While your payment will be automatically deducted on the day it is due, you can make a partial payment earlier through mycollegepaymentplan.com or Student Finance in Ocean Connect.
Yes! To avoid a payment plan fee, you can pay your balance in full!

Advising Information
Academic Advisors look forward to assisting you! To meet the needs of all students, advisors are available to assist students in multiple ways.
In-Person: Students can meet with an Advisor on a walk-in basis, no appointment is needed! Advising and Transfer Services is located in the Student Enrollment Building #9, during the following hours:
Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays: 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.*
Wednesdays, 8:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.*
*Students are encouraged to arrive at least an hour prior to closing to ensure the Advisors have sufficient time to assist you.
Virtual: Students can connect with an Advisor via WebEx. Make a Remote Advising Appointment (by phone or Web-ex)
