Tuition and fees are established by the college’s Board of Trustees and are subject to change at any time.

Tuition Rates for Full-Time and Part-Time Students

(Effective Fall 2019)

County residents: $152.50/semester hour
($121.00 tuition, $19.00 college/student fees, $12.50 technology fees)

E-Learning Courses – County residents: $152.50/semester hour plus E-learning fee ($121.00 tuition, $19.00 college/student fees, $12.50 technology fees)

E-Learning Courses – Out-of-County residents: $170.50/semester hour plus E-learning fee ($139.00 tuition, $19.00 college/student fees, $12.50 technology fees)

E-Learning Courses – Out-of-State residents: $256.50/semester hour ($225.00 tuition, $19.00 college/student fees, $12.50 technology fees)

Out-of-County residents: $170.50/semester hour ($139.00 tuition, $19.00 college/student fees, $12.50 technology fees)

Out-of-State or foreign residents: $256.50/semester hour ($225.00 tuition, $19.00 college/student fees, $12.50 technology fees)

Jump Start/College Academy: $99.50/semester hour (after applied Trustee Discount) ($87.00/semester hour plus $12.50 technology fees)

Silver Edge: $73/semester hour ($60.50/semester hour plus $12.50 technology fees)

Tuition Deposit (Nursing Students Only)
A $300.00 non-refundable tuition deposit is required of newly accepted nursing students.


College/Student Fee

Full-time and part-time students pay a college/student fee of $19.00 per credit hour. The fee represents partial subsidy of the following services:

  • College Budget
    • Advising
    • Intercollegiate Athletics
    • Student Life Office Administration Operations
    • Health Service Office
    • Transfer & Placement
    • Financial Aid
    • Parking
  • Student Life Fund
    • Clubs & Organizations
    • College Center Building Fund

In addition, full-time and part-time students pay a technology fee of $12.50 per credit hour.

Course or Material Fees

A course or material fee listed below will be required of all students enrolled in certain designated courses. Fee categories appear at the conclusion of applicable course descriptions. A special table of fees, not shown here, also exists for International Education Courses.

In addition to the above, students may be required to purchase material for their own use in conjunction with certain courses as noted at the end of those course descriptions. These costs will be identified by the course instructor and will not be included on the student’s bill prepared by the college.

Tuition and Fees Payment

Tuition and fee payment arrangements should be made at the time of registration. Checks or money orders (made payable to Ocean County College), cash, Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover are accepted. We do not charge any additional fees for credit card payments.

Spring Tuition Payment Plan

Ocean County College offers a payment plan that divides the tuition and fee payments into equal installments, after pending financial aid and scholarships are considered, and the initial deposit. Payments are due in January, February, March and April on the day of the month that you started your payment plan.

Residency Definitions

Ocean County Residents

Any person with a permanent Ocean County Address is an Ocean County resident. Proof of residency is a valid New Jersey Voter Registration card, a Motor Vehicle Registration, a driver’s license, or a County ID card. Ocean County College admissions priority is given to Ocean County residents. (Armed Forces personnel and their dependents stationed in Ocean County are considered Ocean County residents.)

Out-of-County Resident

A resident of a New Jersey county other than Ocean County.

Out-of-Country Resident

A person in the United States who is not of permanent residence, with non-immigrant status as defined by the United States Immigration and Naturalization Service. Persons in this category may need to file an I-20 student visa form.
