Tutoring

IMPORTANT: All students visiting the tutoring center must wear a mask. Students that are exempt from the mask mandate must present proof upon arrival. Masks will be provided if needed.

For Fall 2021, the tutoring center is offering both in-person and online synchronous support. Asynchronous services are available for math and writing.

In-person sessions are available for all math courses, writing, physics, ASLN-100/103, BIOL-114/119/130/131/161/162/163/232/264, CHEM-180/181, CSIT-123/165/166/176/265, ENGR-181, and PSYC-172. In-persons sessions are by appointment only. Students that arrive at the center without an appointment may be able to work with a tutor if one is available.

Synchronous sessions are one-on-one with a tutor and are conducted through Webex. Currently, all of our centers have the option of synchronous sessions. All of the above courses are supported synchronously, as well as CHEM-182/283/284 and CSIT-110.

For asynchronous sessions, students submit their work and await tutor feedback. Currently, both STEM Center (math only) and Writing Center offer asynchronous support.

Please schedule all tutoring sessions with the full intent of attending. Students that accumulate three no-shows in a 30 day period will be restricted from scheduling their own sessions, and will need to contact the appropriate service area to schedule appointments. Appointments must be cancelled at least 12 hours in advance. This can be done in TutorTrac, or by calling 732-255-0400 ext, 2431.
