Travel with us from OCC to Rome, Orvieto, Assisi, Siena, Florence and Ostia Antica.

You will see the ancient historical sites of the Colosseum, the Forum and the Palatine hill as well as the Pantheon and Castel Sant’Angelo; wander the archaeological site of Ostia Antica; and experience the Baths of Caracalla and the Circus Maximus in 3D.

We will travel through time to Medieval Italy with stops in Assis, San Gimignano, orvieto, and Siena – visiting places with significance to Western religion, politics, and science that illustrate the West’s response to the Black Death – including the development of Renaissance Art!

Our longer stays in Florence and Rome will highlight some of the greatest works of the Renaissance and Baroque periods, including admission to the Uffizi Gallery (Florence) and Borghese Gallery (Rome). A guided tour of St. Peter’s Basilica (featuring Michelangelo’s Pieta and several sculptural and architectural masterpieces by Bernini) will also take us to Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel.  Sites associated with Science include museums associated with Galileo – see his telescope! – and da Vinci – operate working models of his many inventions.

Throw coins into the Trevi Fountain still serviced today by the ancient aqueducts.  The list is endless but we try to cover as much as we can, every day we are there.

Included in the cost: Round-trip airfare, lodging, all breakfasts and dinners, coach transports and local public transport, museum passes and tuition for one OCC course (either in SCIE or ARTS) included. (Interested students may take a second course for an additional tuition payment.)

Generous travel scholarships from the OCC Foundation are available to OCC students, but all are welcome to share this unforgettable adventure.
