Institutional Research

The core purpose of Institutional Research (IR) is to support data-informed decision-making campus-wide. This is achieved by providing timely, accurate, and meaningful data and analysis to campus constituents in an easily understood format. In addition, IR supports compliance with regulatory reporting including but not limited to, federal, state, and accrediting agencies.

Fact Book

The Fact Book tells OCC’s story through data and infographics in addition to providing contextual information for each section.

The 2021-2022 Fact Book provides data for a five-year period through fall 2021 and is updated each year.

Environmental Scan

The Environmental Scan provides detailed trends and projections of Ocean County College’s population and communities that may effect the advancement of the college’s overall mission. The College utilizes this data in order to distinguish important trends and better understand external influences that impact the institution.

In addition to the fact book and environmental scan, the Office of Institutional Research publishes a variety of reports to support decisions across campus.

These include:

  • Graduate exit survey results
  • Retention studies
  • Noel Levitz student satisfaction results
  • College employee satisfaction survey results
  • Developmental education studies
  • Course success reports.

Internal IR Data Requests

College employees may request data and assistance from Institutional Research for college-related purposes

IR Data Request Form

External Research Requests

Non-college employees wishing to conduct research at Ocean County College must comply with Policy #2335.
College employees wishing to conduct research for non-related work initiatives (ie: dissertation research, thesis research) must also comply with this policy.

All external research requests must be submitted through the Research Application Form.*

* Please note, this is not to be utilized for OPRA requests.
