TOMS RIVER, NJ — The Workforce and Professional Education (WPE) department at Ocean County College will host an open house for individuals interested in starting a new career, upgrading their job skills, or exploring new educational opportunities. The event will take place on August 23 from 4-7 p.m. in the Hovnanian Health Sciences Building (#102) on the College’s main campus. Admission is free and open to the public.
WPE at Ocean County College offers a variety of fast-track career training and specialized certification programs in high-demand industries. These programs are designed to help individuals achieve their goals by giving them the skills and knowledge they need to succeed.
WPE Executive Director Kaitlin Everett says the open house is a great way for individuals looking for career or educational opportunities to explore their options at OCC.
“There are so many training programs to choose from—in healthcare, education, business, computer science, and specialized careers,” Everett explained. “By attending an open house, you can explore what interests you, learn about industry-recognized credentials and apprenticeship programs, and even tour the lab or classroom space you will train in on campus.”
In addition to course information, visitors will have the opportunity to meet with instructors and other OCC representatives who can answer any questions they have and provide details about enrollment and financing.
“Many of our training programs are scholarship and sponsorship eligible,” said Everett. “This is an exciting time to add valuable skills to your resume at a low cost!”
