Academic Pathways

The next steps in this program are to enroll at a four-year school to complete a teacher certification degree approved by the NJDOE.

This major provides students with a liberal arts background and real world skills to manage the classroom setting including hand-on experience in the field as required by the State of NJ Department of Education. This degree is articulated with Kean’s BA in Elementary Education K-6 & Teacher of Students with Disabilities (several academic content areas available); Stockton University’s BA Early Childhood Education P-3 and Elementary Education K-6 with Liberal Studies. Faculty Biography

Dr. Nicole Kammer holds an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from Monmouth University. She worked on the Concept-Oriented Reading Instructional grant while earning her M.Ed. in Human Development from the University of Maryland. She holds two Bachelor’s degrees, one in Psychology and the other in Visual Arts, from Stockton University. Dr. Kammer has extensive educational research experience working on the Head Start CARES Project, Preschool Language and Literacy Lab (University of Virginia), and an Integrated Literacy & Science Curriculum Study (Rowan University). Her research interests include integrating diversity in the early childhood STEAM curriculum as well as designing reading comprehension strategy instruction at the early childhood level.
