Enrolling at OCC
Checklist for Students:
STEP 2- Apply for Financial Aid
Complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online.
STEP 3- Submit Immunization Form
All full time new students under the age of 30 must complete and submit an Immunization Form to the Registration Office prior to enrolling in classes. Please submit the form to the Registration and Records Office located on the first floor of the Administration Building (#1) . Click here to download/print the Immunization Form.
STEP 5- Registration & Group Advising
If this is your first time attending Ocean County College, you may benefit from group advising. Find out more at the Hub.
Have you attended Ocean before or plan to be a Part Time Student (11 credits or less), and need help choosing courses? Meet with an Academic Advisor to discuss degree options and course scheduling. Just stop in the Advising Office, no appointment is necessary. Visit our Advising page for more information about our services and office hours.
Visiting and Non-degree students do not need to demonstrate college readiness or have prerequisite courses in order to register at OCC.
VISITING STUDENTS: Visiting students are currently enrolled at another institution and are at OCC to take classes to transfer back to their home institution.
NON-DEGREE STUDENTS: Non-Degree students are not pursuing a degree or certificate at OCC, but are taking classes for reasons such as completing prerequisites or personal enrichment.
Need help? Visit the Hub in the Administration Building Lobby, or contact the Hub at 732 255 0482 or firstname.lastname@example.org
STEP 6- Register for Classes
During Orientation- that is where the majority of Full Time Freshman Vikings meet with an advisor and register for courses. Part Time Vikings will initially need to register in person at the Registration and Records Office. Visiting Vikings from other institutions will receive an email with a registration form. They can complete that form with the course(s) they would like, and submit it to the Registration Office as instructed on the form.
STEP 7 – Make Payment Arrangements
Pay your balance in full online or in person in the Cashiers Office. You can also use the OCC tuition payment plan or the many other options available to students. Visit the Paying for College page for more information.
STEP 8- Get Ready for Your Close-Up
Students can obtain an OCC ID card at The Hub, Admin Building, floor #1. You will need to be enrolled in classes and bring a photo ID.
STEP 9 – Purchase Books
Purchase your books at the Toms River campus bookstore or online at the Bookstore’s website.
Thank you for choosing Ocean County College. We look forward to seeing you on campus!
