Hospitality, Recreation and Tourism Management A.S.

The A.S. in Hospitality, Recreation and Tourism Management (HRTM) is designed to prepare students to begin a career in the creative, people-oriented Hospitality, Recreation & Tourism industries, or to continue with their education toward a Bachelor’s degree. The program provides a business planning and management foundation that examines industry trends, consumer behavior, guest services and other factors that influence Hospitality Recreation & Tourism development and promotion. Students will receive exposure to critical thinking skills as well as a broad education and awareness of values, skills, and attitudes that will prepare them for responsible citizenship roles across the scope of the hospitality, recreation and tourism industry and society.

  • Create marketing and communications plans
  • Identify members, partners, and funding sources

Hotel Manager
Daily Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute operational procedures
  • Ensure guest satisfaction and safety
  • Demonstrate knowledge of hotel services
  • Revenue Management

Attraction/Theme Park Manager
Daily Responsibilities:

  • Identify factors that influence attendance
  • Ensure guest satisfaction and safety
  • Train and develop staff
  • Capacity Management

Java Junction is looking for apprentices for the Fall 2022 semester! This is part of a paid credit-based course, which can also be taken as an elective by non-hospitality students. Participants will have the unique opportunity to strengthen their management and customer service skills, in a real-world setting.
